Here's the plan!! EuroTrip 2009

Hey!!

So I have been working hard (at vacation planning, not real work!) and have narrowed down where we will be stayong for our 16 days in Europe. So here goes:

  • Day 1 (Sunday May 17) - Arrive in Frankfurt! Rent a car and drive to Wurzburg, Germany for the night.
  • Day 2 - Explore the "Romantic Road" - 200 miles of road in Bavaria leading through Medieval towns with tons of castles! Sleep in Fussen, Germany
  • Day 3 - More castles :) Drive to Munich!!
  • Day 4 and 5 - Play in Munich! Beer, bikes, Bavarians and (bunches of?) fun.
  • Day 6 - Head back to Switzerland. Explore Interlaken (again) and maybe do some extreme sports.
  • Day 7 and 8 -Train, bus, then cable car to Gimmelwald. There are no cars in this Alpine town, and we'll be away from everything except cows and mountains.
  • Day 9 and 10 (May 25-26) - Off to Italy! We'll be spending two nights on the shores of the Mediterranean, near Portofino, and we are staying in a CASTLE!!!
  • Day 11 - Laying on the beach in Finale Ligure, Italy. Scuba, sun and gelatto.
  • Day 12 - Crossing into France. Hitting up Monaco, too, while we're at it :) Staying near Nice.
  • Day 13 - Beautiful people and trendiness in Cannes
  • Day 14 (May 30th and MY 24th BIRTHDAY!!) - The heart of Provence in Aix-en-Provence. Wine, lavender fields and lots of cheese, and nutella I hope.
  • Day 15 - Into Marseille. Last night in Europe :'(
  • Day 16 - Leave at noon...after several layovers, tons of airport meals, and a lot of jet lag, get home at 11pm PST.
  • Day 17 - Cry and go back to work.
Well that's what we have so far! I even made an interactive map - you can zoom in and track us below:

Euro Trip - New and Improved!! :)

Hey Everyone!!

It is time for me to start planning another odyssey...and I have decided that I hav e to return to Western Europe. It was hard to decide: I looked at tropical locations, dive vacations, Greek cruises, and many other far off destinations. But I found super cheap tickets into Germany, and it got me thinking that I really hadn't seen enough of Europe yet!

So here's the plan - we are flying into Frankfurt and out of Marseille. Everything else is kind of up for grabs, but I am thinking Frankfurt -> German countryside (castles!!) -> Munich -> Switzerland -> Italy -> Italian Riviera -> The south of France -> Monaco! -> More France -> Home!!

We are leaving on May 16th and returning June 1st. That means I will be in France for my 24th birthday!! Wahooo!!

Oh - and I guess it's important to mention that Taylor will be my travel buddy this time :)

Can't wait!!
